Harry Potter and the GOF

Hahax.. after a VERY XIONG day in camp, i decided to reward myself with 2 things. one: get home in a taxi, sitting comfortably inside the aircon vehicle while chatting with frens and listening my diskman. two: watch HP & the GOF, a movie i waited for 1.5 years since the 3rd HP series was aired.

Watched with BY @ 2140 ai Tiong Bahru Plaza (everywhere else is filled- hermione in 3rd movie). Hmm.. the overall impression i got from the movie was that it was too compressed. However, i would give the rating a 7/10 for the cast and effects. Many scenes from the book was omitted. Some examples are the fetching of Harry from the Dursleys, Quidditch World Cup match, Dobby the house elf, anticipation of students from Beauxbaton and Drumstrang, scenes in between tasks, details of the 3rd tasks etc.

Characters have grown of course. Hermione, played by Emma, become stunningly beautiful. Ginny became prettier. The introduction of Fleur and Cho added some "spice" to the movie. I was impressed by Fleur's mannerism and the wasy she presented herself- poised and ladylike. Cho was slightly disappointing. She appeared in quite many scenes in the book, but fot the movie, her appearance is minimal. The characters portrayed was ok. Jus that i felt Dumbledore did not appear to be as wise as he is portrayed, Hermione, not as muggish but too emotional. Harry, the character was acted well, in my opinion, by Radcliffe.

I would say, for a movie i anticipated for 1.5 years, it is a bit disappointing. If the movie if longer (showing more scenes in the book), it would definately be lots better :) But overall, i still feel that it is a good movie given the increased experience of the cast and that special effects shown.

My $9.50 did not go to waste.
